I like the CPC column added to the reports. At first I didn't really liked the new interface but I am beginning to like it since I am getting used to it now.
and by the way, I think anytime soon they are going to put the old interface to rest so better get acquainted with the new interface now![]()
I just found two issues with the new interface. The CTR seems lower than usual. Also, the 'coverage' stats had me worried since not all of them say 100%. It turns out that 'Link Units' take away from the coverage %. They don't get included as having been displayed properly unless someone actually clicks one of the links, which then displays an ad. This means 100% of visitors would have to click a link from an link unit in order for coverage to be 100%. Meanwhile, large ad units count when they are displayed, even if they are not clicked.
This is what a Google employee had to say about it:
Source: The Coverage Metric - AdSense HelpLink units are treated specially by the Coverage metric. The actual definition of Coverage is:number of ad units that showed real ads / total number of ad units requested
where "real ads" excludes "clickable terms in the link units".
For normal ad units, this definition is equivalent to one I gave earlier, because normal ad units show real ads right away.
For link units, it is different, because they show real ads only after the user clicks them. Hence, link units coverage = ratio of non-empty link units (= coverage you would like to see) * ratio of non-empty link units that have been clicked = a kind of link unit CTR.
We understand that this definition is not ideal, and should be changed so coverage numbers look consistent across normal ad units and link units.
