Thread: Can AdSense be Hijacked?

I'll try to explain this as best I can.

My main site is way, way down on earning

About 1 mo ago I got this from AdSense

So I made the changes as they said it made no difference money is still way down.

Now today I noticed this. Might be nothing or it might be. I made no changes to these pics other then to resize a bit. I used the snipping tool.

Now talking about a different ad. This is the 336 x 280 ad on the site

Take a close look at the font it is different? This is in the same ad just on a different page.

How I have the ad set up it shows this way on most pages.

This is a plugin that using the same AdSense code.

Has this ever happened to you that AdSense changes the font size from page to page?

Is this a strange thing or should I start hunting for something?

If I am to hunt for something what am I to be looking for?

Are you sure Google genuinely sends out such e-mails occasionally?

Hi,

That was not an email I don't use email

That letter was right in my AdSense account after you login under Recent Messages.

We were using a Wordpress plugin that, a small percentage of the time, replaced our AdSense pub-id with the plugin makers AdSense pub-id.

This is an option in the plugin, but the option to disable it simply did not work. So, we just edited source code to the plugin.

You can see if this is happening to you by viewing the source code to your web page in a web browser. In Firefox, you can do this with <CONTROL-U>. Search for every instance of "google_ad_client" on your page and make sure that all of the pub id's are yours.

I will check into to that. Thanks.. You might be right just wondering why this started all of a sudden been using the same plugin from day one, and it is on all of my wp sites this is the only site that seemed to be affected.

Hypothetically, wouldn't it seem odd to you if you had a stock that was always around $100 a mo and all of a sudden it dropped to $7 a mo. Would you want to look in to why the stock dropped?

That is how big of a change I have I going on here.

If my AdSense pub-id is on all my pages and I can not find anything that way.

Any Ideas on what to do next?

Do you have any other stats program, like AWStats or Google Analytics?

You want to find out if you page impressions have fallen, or just your ad impressions.

Hi

I don't have AWStats or Google Analytics on any of the sites. I use wassup wordpress plugin. I think it neat to watch and see what people are doing on my sites real time. then I look at the stuff that I have in cpanel Webalizer, Awstats, from time to time. I really don't understand what they say.

According to AdSense my my page views for the site are up from last mo. it is just that I am not getting close to any clicks for some reason.

I also have all three of my ads from that site on the same channel.
