Could adsense CPC depend on your location

This is an interesting theory I've heard about recently and it might help explain some strange numbers with adsense. That the cpc might be affected by the adsense account owner's actual location/country. Any ideas if there is some truth to it?

I can see some reason they might do it, or more appropriately why the location of the clicker would be a factor, but I cant say if what you've heard is right or not.

I've been told about certain countries experiencing massloads of adsense accounts getting banned from that country. Most justified, some not. I wouldn't be surprised if Google took some measure to cover the losses from fraudulent clicks.

yea but that's click fraud it's a different issue. What I mean is if adsense might just be paying accounts from certain countries less. Just because.. they can.

This might disappoint you a bit , I never really believed it when I heard people taking about it all over on the forums but I have not personally tried it with many friends except 1 friend who was in the same niche as mine , we were working on the same keywords and after getting 2 million impression we compared our cpc , his was $0.35 and mine was $0.75 where as his Adsense account was from Malaysia and mine from America. If this is really true then I feel Adsense is bit unfair here to their publishers.

That was one of the countries I have heard about and what I meant is that supposedly clickfraud from accounts there is very high.
