Thread: The Formula for AdSense Success

Hybrid View

  1. The Formula for AdSense Success

AdSense revenue is (Traffic * CTR).

    CTR is (Design * Niche).

Design is (Placement + Fonts + Colors).

    Traffic is (Content * Links).

So, the formula for AdSense success is:
    AdSense success = ((Content * Links) * (Niche) * (Placement + Fonts + Colors))

Adsense has never been a huge earner for me. In 2007 I had quite a few $30 days but nothing huge. I'm focusing on my 2 blogs now and a few other sites so hoping to increase that a bit more

WTH, Will? Are you a mathematician or something?
    That's pretty nice...
But now, as mathematician, please develop each value as precisely as possible...

  4. nice tips.
    But I am confused on
    CTR is (Design * Niche).
How CTR depends on niche ?
I think CPC depends on niche - right ?

  5. Both CPC (Cost Per Click) and CTR (Click Through Ratio) are heavily dependent upon the niche.

I use the same template on a wide variety of sites and the CTR varies from 2% to 40% -- depending upon the niche.

  6. I am still confused on "How CTR depends on niche"..

    CTR (click-through-rate) doesn't depend solely on Ad placement/position ?

    Definitely not.

I have a site about famous quotes. I have a site about combat boots.

People generally aren't in a shopping mood when they are looking for quotations.

People generally are in a shopping mood when they are looking for combat boots.

The end result is that the site on combat boots has a much higher CTR than the site about famous quotes.

    OK, I got the idea.

    Also I think....

If a niche site like "make money online" or "sexy celeb pics" have similar adsense ads, visitors will click each of the links in the ad unit.

While, if it's a health/finance niche, visitor will click 1 or 2 links usually...

    True ?

As Will pointed out; users in shopping mode are better clickers.

I am basically only using WP now for new my Adsense sites. I mostly use the same theme on all my sites - a rather boring theme actually which invites people to leave through my Adsense, and there is a huge difference in CTR from site to site. Lowest one is just around 1%-2% and the highest CTR with this theme is around 22%-25%.

All money earned starts with traffic. I you do not have the traffic,or the traffic volume, your earning potential is way down.
