Nice post, I never thought about that.. But I've had that problem a lot of time, and I didn't know this was the reason. (Well at least a bit of it)
I hate it when I see these PSA's passing by, even on proxies I saw the 'hurricane' ad passing by a lot![]()

I didnt know about that as well, But those PSA's certainly spoil all the effort.
And that really happens with those niche which are out of the box of adsense.
Nice post though, gotta avoid those words from now on.

Very interesting. I like the disclaimer:
That's quite important, I think. This adsense poison word list is pure webmaster speculation. NONE of the words below are proven stop-words, but ALL the words have been mentioned by webmasters, as POSSIBLE AdSense stop words.
Anyway, I didn't really ever think about this -- that certain words can trigger PSA ads -- so it's news to me, the newbie. Looking at the list, it must be quite tough for people in the medical or pharmaceutical niches.
I wonder if the problem can be avoided with use of the adsense start/stop commands <!-- google_ad_section_start --> and <!-- google_ad_section_end -->. Consider this:
It should be possible to make a Wordpress plugin that can do that, given a list of words.HTML Code:<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Today I'd like to talk to you about <!-- google_ad_section_end -->hurricanes<!-- google_ad_section_start -->, which really get my goat.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->Then again, I don't know to what degree Google really respect those commands...
It seems to me that stop words are specific to every advertiser. When I create an AdWords campaign, I can enter whatever negative keywords that I wish to.
As a publisher, it might be important to think about what advertisers in your niche would consider negative keywords.
For example, advertisers in the "car" niche might think of "rc" as a negative keyword.
It seems to me that the word "free" might be a negative keyword for a lot of advertisers.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
I usually get some PSA's (or no ads at all) here:

Yep, I see Adsense ads as well!

I can only see 1 or 2 out of 3 units and sometimes all I can get are PSA's (maybe it's because of my current location)
