Quite true, although some topics and some traffic sources are better for AdSense than others.
You can have a lot of Slashdot traffic on your page "Computers from the 1970's" -- and your AdSense revenue may not cover hosting costs. :rofl:
It took me 3 months to reach the $100.00 per month mark.
According to me if you want to make good money from adsense then don't run behind high paying keywords but select something on which you can write day and night without getting bored . I mean your most favorite topic must be your niche and you must keep exploring about it daily basis .
I joined adsense 2 years back and received my first check after 6 months but then it is coming on regular basis .
Will.Spencer - I just read you interview and I am happy to know the motive behind starting this forum . I hope we can learn many things from you in future .

Well, seeing how Traffic = $$ according to Adsense terms, how can I help find specific traffic for my sites? It seems like such a daunting task, but I know it is easier than I'm making it out to be... Any suggestions?

I started with no foundation. I created everything from the ground up. I started with $0.00 investment, and now making $1000-$1500/month. I started with a site hosted for free with a free sub-domain. Now, I even run my own hosting business :D
I hit $100/month after 4 months of hard work.
Took me about 2 months to break $100.. at 4 months I broke $1000/mo ..
