    Those are both good locations.

Yes, but that leads back to the issue I have with variable length pages all fitting into a standard template.

My solution is to use a 160x600 skyscraper for the third AdSense block. It's the best solution when you have to deal with variable length pages, but it's not the absolutely perfect best solution possible for all pages.

Ah, you're using a CMS aren't you? I've used Wordpress, Joomla and few other CMSs and that is a dilemma, these days I prefer plain HTML pages. I lose a fair bit in automation, but gain a lot in being able to make each page exactly how I like it. If you have a Mac, then take a look at RapidWeaver, far better than iweb, and a lot cheaper than Dreamweaver, and with a much shorter learning curve.

Not for my main sites. Those are all still hand rolled in `vi`.

I've got a bunch of new sites where I'm testing Drupal and WordPress. I killed off almost all of my Joomla sites.

vi? Wow, apart from linux people I think you're the first person I've come across who still uses it.

I still have a couple of CMS powered sites, and I'd be tempted to kill them except they're both making money for me and one is a PR6 which has taken a few years to build up - just wish I could convert them to HTML pages but I am not going to all that effort... except that if I did, I'd be able to do some more with AdSense on them like you recommend.

I guess the other option is to build up traffic on the new projects, sigh, HTML and onpage optimisation is easy, but getting traffic takes so much darned time to build up.

You can do good AdSense layouts in any decent CMS.

I am working on a Drupal layout right now at http://www.symatech.net/

What if we put adsense on blogs? How do you track blog posts? You just create a channel for each individual permalink of the blog post?

How do you use Google Analytics?

You could, but it would be a heck of a lot of work and you would soon run out of URL channels.

But, now that Analytics can automatically create effective URL channels, it's not necessary to do that in AdSense any more.

How do you mean that? I mean, what specifically are you asking?

Are you signed up for Analytics yet?
