Most Profitable Adsense Niche in 2009

Well this table has been around for quite a while but just wanted to share it here at netbuilders for those who haven't seen it, it might be useful for webmasters who build websites.

I found it while looking for a new idea to develop a new project that could make money and at the same time within my interests other wise it's just boring to run a site about something you hate even if it's making money.

If you wanna view the complete list go to the original article.

I think my next projects would be a cars forum, mma portal and web design blog plus a few proxy related projects.

Thx for the list, still I don't see it anywhere near reality, specially the cost per click column.

Example: auto and car - it shows $7.28 and $5.09 respectively

I own 17 car related websites serving over half a million pages per month and my average adsense click is currently @ $0.18...

Well I don't know about that, but that's the average. A car ad could be paying 0.18 per ad while others are paying $5.00, it's our job or purely luck to get the top paid ads on our sites.

Proxy sites as an example. The average is like $0.08 or less per click but I've received up to $5.00 for just 1 click, obviously this happens very rarely. I guess you have to target the right advertiser who's paying the most for the ads.

Sorry, I've mentioned the average for over half a million well targeted pages, with good CTR, no smartpricing whatsoever and from 17 different car sites.
In fact this year's average for a few million page impressions is below that ($0.1747)
Of course there might some advertisers paying $5 per click, but there are many paying a couple cents only, and it's not a "luck" game if you ask me.

Now we're getting there, maximum amounts might be well over average, which is the case for proxies, but also for cars, celebrities, recipes and many other mass niches.

I'm not trying to bash your thread nor the original post, in fact I've thanked you for it, I'm just trying to clarify a few things before I see a bunch of people starting to develop sites about whatever just because it says CPC=$xx when the hard reality is far from that, probably in the 5%-10% area of it.

Just a little extra something; if you check the original post you can see stay paying $15.51, Google adwords tool shows $4.19.

Used to own 20+ car related websites, and very few of them were making higher PPC in avg than $0.18. So I definitely agree with you.
Also as a general suggestion.. Don't jump on these keywords at all. Why? Because this is a domainers trap, you get plenty of competition while there are unexplored niches ready to be hit big time. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy proxy sites, car sites etc, but it is not where the big opportunity lies IMHO.

Meh, none, but I am making a local travel blog for my town. The keyword of my town + hotels = decent revenue. At least according to Will's little method for tracking the potential success of adsense ads.
