Thumbs up Want to come back again

It's been a long time I closed my website I developed for the purpose to generate AdSense revenue. I tried for 3 years, but failed to earn a minimum amount that's required to make a living. After 3 years, now I want to come back again in online business. I've decided to develop a website again, and this time it will be a "Yellow Page". I'm planning to manage local advertisers as well as include AdSense in my website. What do you think about my decision to develop a "Yellow Page" to generate ad revenue? Your opinions and suggestions are highly appreciated.

    Thanks

I don't like the idea of a yellowpage website. It seems that the market is satuarated.

To get into the online business, there are three problems
    1) The website
    2) Traffic
    3) Monetise

Of the three problems, the traffic is the most important. Once you have traffic then it is easy to nuild out a website and monetise.

Another suggestion is to try affiliate marketing to monetise the site rather than publishing.

With affliate marketing and publishing, it's either feast or famine. You are doing good if you spend a $1 to make $2.

Another way to make money is to sell a service online or build a shopping cart.

    Did you have enough traffic?

Even I made an online store to promote my affiliate products & services. I used to get the average of 200 visitors/day. It's not enough, but it worth how much effort I gave.

Anyway, can you please give me some ideas about how can I make money building shopping cart?

    Thanx

200 uniques a day is not enough.

There's people making good income. But you are right that it's hard to keep the effort when no money is coming in.

You would have to sell a product or use a drop shipping service.

Well, you've choosen a bad time to be getting back into AdSense (in my humble opinion). With the global financial meltdown, AdSense clicks are paying less than ever (or perhaps it's just my crappy niches). However, the "meltdown" aspect is going to be true of almost any online revenue-generation scheme.

Some niches are still buying well. But you are correct that some niches are full of low paying 1 and 2 cent clicks.

Online sales are actually increasing and amazon is doing well.

Oh I am sure it will.. the market has a capability to balance it self, so don't worry, it will recover. In fact, in this recession you might find more opportunities to make money, just look around and open your mind.
