I am mainly in tech, but I am almost always trying to diversify. People in the tech niche are terribly ad blind.

I always write post then search about that topic in google . After that I do selection of some good keywords and enter them in my blog post . This method help me to get good rankings many times . You can check google adword tool for keyword guidance .
It depends on the market your in. I am in the coffee niche, insurance niche, and christmas niche
I am in the how to niche and the clicks do not seem to pay a lot when I actually get them.:D
If suitable and possible, same keywords as in the domainname. I am in the industry/services niche at the moment.
