I think the schools are worrying that the children might landed on some contents not suitable for them instead of getting virus.

Not in the states. They have heavy blocks against inappropriate content, but not adsense ads and such. In fact, myspace and every social networking site is blocked at most schools in the US. Though, by the time smart kids reach HS they can use a proxy. Or hack the system.
