Thread: Affiliate Sales on Twitter

I have a few different Twitter accounts, each with a few thousand followers in targeted niches. Is it possible to make a decent amount of money through Twitter, basically posting hoplinks and referral links for affiliate sales and gaining high CTR's on Twitter?

People are doing this successfully, although sometimes it amazes me that it works.

The keys seem to be:

• Choosing a good niche for this type of marketing.
• Getting the right type of people as followers.

Good points Will. But I would still use Twitter just to drive traffic to my own website, and try to get email subscribers. Then I'd try to get sales via email. It means more work, but creates better relationship with you potential customers.

I'd use this especially when selling digital information products (ClickBank), because the sales process seem to be a bit longer than with physical non-information products.

I think you are much better off if you interact with your followers, send them a link to your site every now and then, I unfollow everyone who post links with every single update.

Getting the "right" followers seems to be the key. Webmasters aren't necessarily going to convert via Twitter, but other folks will depending on the niche.

That's risky, people can unfollow you if they don't like what you are tweeting to them, I suggest you post a review in your blog and tweet that blog entry to your followers instead.

I've been doing massa following in the beginning but it isn't the best way. In fact most of your followers are crap followers using stupid software. I'm sure you'll get a few sales, but like DCB says, you could create a blog post with an honest review. You might get more visitors & more subscribers too, and ofcourse a few sales

do some research on the niche which will pay you high and follow only humans( do some reasearch do they tweet there personal or ads or links )

I have been doing this for several CPA offers and it works great if you:

• Choose the right offer which is recently hot or in trends
  For example... in December what would generate high CTR would be offers of free Wallmart gift cards. I usually check Google Trends before tweeting offers.
• Grow more and more followers because CTR decreases after tweeting the same offer 3 times or more.
