Yep we should add something like that to the forum.

A bit off-topic, but I'll ask anyway.
I figure you are in the affiliate business for quite a while, and you know how things work there. What exactly is the idea? Making a website, and just putting affiliate banners instead of AdSense? I browsed through DP's Affiliate section, and those guys are all about landing pages and whatnot, but they can't get traffic (naturally, Google won't rank one-page sites).
Let's say that you have a website that gets 10k visitors per month. Would you rather put affiliate banners on it, or AdSense? I guess it depends on the niche too.
(moved your post to this thread since it's a bit more on topic)
Basically yes, make sites the same way but instead of adsense get the visitors to click on your affiliate links and banners and you usually get paid for sales, rather clicks.
Strategically the main difference is that with affiliate marketing you need well targeted traffic.
People talking about landing pages usually get the traffic from ppc, buying traffic on adwords.

I've been reading about this a little from that link you posted above.
Basically, in layman terms, you can go the PPC route, which requires a big budget and there is a lot of risk involved. The second route (which is a lot slower and harder) is to build a content website, work on it and get traffic from SE's (which is what most of us do, only by placing AdSense instead of aff).
Interesting... If someone would choose the route 1, what budget would one need? Does it really convert, if you have only a landing page?
yeah pretty much.
You can always start small and reinvest. I'd say a few hundreds $ are enough to give it a try. Although you'd need over $1k to get into this seriously. Expect to lose some at first as you're learning. And you can check your competitors and use their landing pages that convert well
Imho the biggest problem with this approach is there is no compound interest, no passive income. It's kinda like a job. You need to check your campaigns constantly, research keywords, improve. These things aren't very durable, but can provide a good income.

To be able to make a living off of it (this depends on the country, but let's say to be able to make $3000-5000 per month), how much hours per day does one need to devote to it?
Well.. that really depends on each person and his experience. But lots of hours.
