Thumbs up Appealing to the customer and the client?

So, I've decided to try to monetize my Affiliate Manager blog. Don't get me wrong, my first responsibility is to my affiliate. However, I don't see why I can't try to appeal to my affiliate AND to the custom who is buying the products that my affiliate is trying to sell.

So, what I am doing and plan to do is to include my own affiliate links to the products I am talking about when I promote new offers we have at XY7 to my affiliates. I am also going to try to make the posts appeal to not only the affiliate, but possibility the person who stumbles upon my blog searching for information about the product.

For example, today I've posted about our As Seen On TV campaigns. I am try to reach to both my affiliates and possible customers. What do you think?

I think I'd make multiple blogs.

    Gotta target and focus.

Well said Will, but it's much easier to maintain my one blog

I don't think affiliate managers should be advertising to the consumer to be completely honest. I just don't think its fair for the affiliates.

Hmmm... it's alright if you want to advertise.. but it makes it a bit less professional...

I have a code, when users 'hover' it, they see the 'general' url, but when they click it, they go to the affiliate URL...
I tested it and it worked, no way you can see it (works with javascript and is made by my mate)..

Maybe you could better use something like that?

And what Will said is right too ofcourse...

There are hundreds if not thousands of people marketing the same products. I promise to make a very small dent in the market

I couldn't care less about the marketing more so I think I affiliate managers should be just that... affiliate managers.

I've had many steal landing pages/keywords... of course all of them saying they'd never do it bla bla bla BS.

I have a big issue over affiliate managers trying to do what you are trying to do... for the moment I've decided to put promoting your campaigns on hold.

So you have a problem with my posting information on my blog about the offers you are trying to promote? There is a big different between me stealing your landing pages and me posting about new offers on my Affiliate Manager blog.

As I originally mentioned, my first responsibility is to my affiliate.

I think Nathan is quite clear at where his unease lies. He (and I) feel that an affiliate manager should NOT be competing in any way with the affiliates. I doubt that I will be signing up for XY7.com after reading this thread.
