Choosing Niches for Affiliate Sites

What is your method of choosing niches and products to promote?

I mostly try to capitalize on existing sites and build more sites in the same and related niches.
Also planning to build some sites to sell clickbank products.

I haven't had any luck with clickbank. I'm just starting out with amazon and like it.

I think the best niches for AM are the niches that you are good at or already have a web presence.

I think I'm going to change strategies. I've been trying to find affiliate opportunities in my existing niches.

I think I'm going to focus next on exact match domains which I can monetize with affiliate offers. I registered a few decent debt-related domains and I think I should be able to monetize those pretty well with affiliate offers.

I only pick niches that I have plenty of experience and first hand knowledge in.

PC gaming - I started playing computer games back in 1995, that gives me 15 years of experience.

Hiking, camping and hunting - my dad started taking me into the woods on hunting trips when I was 6 years old, that was 36 years ago.

Welding / metal fabrication - I worked in various welding shops for 14+ years.

I made an error and this project didn't get started back then. It was just barely started very recently. I haven't even signed up with affiliate programs yet.

Well, I am too just starting out.... I think choosing products related to our own site's niche is the best bet

Ahh... I think most people in this thread are looking to create new sites for affiliate marketing.

Well if it is for a new site too then you should go with the niches on which you have proper grip on (by proper grip I mean experience). Choosing a new niche for a new site and using affiliate marketing on it will be a very hard task (but not impossible)
