ClickBank: # of Hops (Rare Spikes)

Has anyone experienced this before? I woke up this morning with this screenshot at one of my Clickbank accounts:

I've blurred the hop count but consider the average days it's 5 and at the spike that value would be 100 (relative values).

That account has only promoted article marketing - and sales have not increased, that's why it's so strange.

And seeing the tracking issues CB has had within the last few months, I just wanted to know if everyone has seen this.

Perhaps one of your articles got posted on the front page of one of the popular article sites?

The thing is, the number of sales stayed the same as in the previous days' avg - which is what makes me wonder. That would have greatly increased the # of sales.

Some types of links generate lots of traffic but few sales. Slashdot, Digg, StumbleUpon, etc... are pretty well-known for that. Do you have AWStats, Google Analytics, or something else running on that site so that you can see where the traffic burst came from?
