Thread: How to start in Affiliate Marketing?

Hey there,

Okay, I've been looking into affiliate programs, networks, etc lately, and I'd like to ask how to get started with some.

See, most I've looked into require a site upon submission of the application, and I don;t really have anything I would feel qualify for that. What I really want to do is create mini sites based around the offers I find interesting. How can I do this though if I can't get in to a program without first having a site?

Any thoughts, tips, etc for someone new like me, wanting to get in to affiliate markets like this?

The best way to get accepted into affiliate networks, even without having a website, is to pick up the phone and give them a ring. Explain to them what you are interested in doing and where you are currently at. Most of the time they will be happy to accept you as an affiliate.

When I starting doing PPC I joined PPC Coach - which I am not on anymore - and found it very helpful. It has lead to me doing some great days - over 2k in gross profit. I would recommend it for a beginner as there's so many options you can choose on what you want to do as an affiliate and PPC Coach helps you a lot.

You could create one "company" site and then host your mini-sites on subdomains. You could put up "mock" minisites for the affiliate offers just to get accepted into the programs.

PPC Coach looks interesting. I twisted Nathan's arm and got him to send me his affiliate link for PPC Coach.

I may sign up, but I should probably delay because I am ridiculously far behind on so many other projects right now.

@Will, about the mini sites, see I've done 2 like that for just product affiliates, where I knew the offer, created a site around the concept and joined up like that.

But most of the affiliate networks, like say, xy7 or neverblue, I can't see what offers they have available until I'm accepted (or I just missed them?) So a bit hard to setup mock sites for offers I don't know they have, haha

and PPC Coach does look interesting, yet another thing for me to check out more.
