Unhappy Chain Threads should not be allowed anymore !

Well, now I think there is no need of chain threads like "Guess who is Next", "Yes or NO" or "Rate the above pic".

Earlier when the forum was new they were good to make it active. But now we have got much members...

Because most of members including me are busy in that type of threads only rather than posting something important !

So, it would be good for this forum that those type of things should be stopped.

Instead, of removing such threads,is there any way to make such that posts made in the general section will not be counted?

The poll was held for that, and removed post count was reactivated again.

I like this kind of threads, it's relaxation and fun for me.

And some time nice source of killing the time when you are waiting for any expected replies at BST section (I have realised now when I am part time webmaster)

NB admins are very good and smart, I am very sure they will take the decision in the interest of members and NB.

Sometimes those threads can be annoying after a forum gets going (and I've participated in them as well), and annoying when it keeps coming up in your subscribed threads (yes...I'm just being lazy), but I think that the popularity of the threads themselves speaks for their usefulness; people would not be posting to them if they did not enjoy them, they provide a relaxing time for some, and there is not always a conversation at hand in which to participate so the chain threads provide a diversion for that and keep people on the board.

Frankly I think some people just spend too much time on them and their posts in them should not count for anything, but if people want them they should stay and I would not envy the task of trying to decide what is and what is not a chain thread, else it could lead to nitpicking in forum moderating along the lines of DP.

The problem yet arises with that of defining what is and is not a useful thread without devolving into nazi moderating.

If people are enjoying and participating in a thread...well...why should it be removed?
