I should have thought of this before, but I just banned all web robots from the Politics and Religion forum using robots.txt:

I don't think that's going to keep the crazies from joining. I'm fairly certain that someone invited the last round. You might as well leave it all open.

It's all about reducing the value of posting in there.

P&R discussions will never stop; I'm just hoping to contain them.

P&R discussions on a webmastering forum don't really add value, they just take time that we could all be using to make money.

They add value of a different sort. P&R serves as a break area for people who wish to visit the forum but don't feel like posting about work.

Think about what motivated you to post in P&R on DP. Everyone needs a break from work on occasion. Would you rather they left the forum for that break?

I don't mind hearing your conversation, but to think you two might be in the same room on separate laptops in some hotel on the other side of the planet and reading what you write to each other is just .... creepy... I feel like I have a bug in your room or something.
