To my mind, that is too complex, has too many colors, has some really ugly colors, and has colors that don't really work together.

Not so much colour-wise, but it seems a neater layout.

I think this blue color is a bit too dark. The contrast between blue and white is too big. It kinda hurts my eyes. Or then I'm not used to it just yet. (I've been, un willingly, offline for few days)

But I agree, that fewer colors is better than many.

I want to start the process of procuring a new template, but I am not comfortable yet that I have a really good feeling for what people want.
