    header section blocked by adBlock+

    Hi All,

I recently realized that the top section of the header showing stats like unread post private messages and NetBucks are blocked by ad Block + Plugin of Firefox.
The reason is very simple and stupid.

while adding this section its div id is marked as advert

if this name is changed then that div will be easily displayed.

i am wondering why no one else marked this till now.

Are the ads here so bad that you have to block them?

I changed the CSS. When everyone's CSS caches are updated (72hrs), I'll change the HTML.

Most people who have once installed AddBlock don't bother to stop it for specific sites.

the default is on for all the sites and that's where it was capturing the block as advert.

Being a webmaster, you should be against tools like AdBlock.
People work hard to try and make money, and add-ons like that ruin it for everyone.

In fact, if I knew how to ban AdBlock users from my sites, I would. I consider it stealing.

Agreed that ads are good for webmaster but but my adblock is more of for bandwidth saving purposes as i used to work on 64Kbps connection metered and every single bit of data packet i can save actually helped me.

Found out this error too. Glad it's solved although ads were on allowed here again.

@Kovich, agreed, I'm using AdBlock too though -- websites full of ads are websites that make my PC slower, I can't afford the time to load 1000 advertisements so that's why this blocker is pretty easy. Like said above though, on sites I visit regularly and I'm interested in I allow the ads
