Thread: Ideas to limit spammer member signups

Some spammer are still getting through. I dumped 2 more this morning. The threads look like they are from the same guy who promotes clothing stores.

Right, but eventually they will realize that their "work" is better spent elsewhere, so the network will delete this forum from their to-do-list.

TD - the two you dumped today already had the IDs in the system before the signup was set to "moderated". They signed up the 5th and 8th respectively, and the change was implemented the latter half of the 8th.

There will still be some slip thru, cause I'd rather have to eliminate one later than pre-ban an otherwise good member, but if the incoming lot has any whiff of bot or spammer, theyre toast.

Been going over the back end of the software trying to fine tune some things and repair some ongoing issues. Been a little preoccupied with an election... Time to pick it up and move forward.

ftr - It was obvious our new little friend had a stable of existing IDs in the wings since everything we've banned today was registered prior, so just went thru and did a proactive search and destroy on his ID inventory. Looks like our Chinese Xrumer Boy just started collecting them around the end of October. If he has any left it wont be many. He's pretty much history.
