Thread: Low Quality Posts

Over the last few hours, I have deleted several hundred posts which met these criteria:

• Posts that are content-free.
• Posts that replicate comments already added to the thread.
• Posts without sufficient attention to grammar, case, and punctuation.
• Posts which can be replaced simply by clicking the "Thanks" button.
• Posts which are off-topic.

If you see posts like these, please hit the report button. I want to keep NetBuilders the highest quality webmaster forum on the Internet, and that requires your help.

It's the red triangle on the left side.

Yes please, I've been clearing those away too. They were just someone trying to artificially boost his post count and many were unreadable gibberish.

A few people have been banned, but more accounts than people.

Will do. Not that I would ignore Netbuilders but I wanted to expand some testing on signature links I've been doing and have started to see some "possible" repeats on other forums.

I've deleted hundreds more low-quality posts in the last few days. Most were "me too" posts which simply paraphrased existing posts in the thread.

Most likely no one reading this thread was affected. Probably no one who reads threads was affected.

We've also banned some IP address ranges belonging to forum posting companies.

I don't know what forum software it was, but it was called a 'general announcement' when you wanted to post. With that, one post would be visible on all FORUMS & SUBFORUMS on a board. We could entitle that with 'Make posts worth reading' or something.

Or put that message right above when people are making their reply -- as some suckas should learn their spam gets removed anyway if it isn't doing any good for the community

My take?
Spammers will always spam forums.
They will find ways to get their spam on forums.

I love those post spammers, the ones that take a previous post and spin it.
Most of them make no sense!
Those are easy to see and so fun to not only delete, but to ban the spin spammer.

Like those that hit blogs and comment spam using again spinners.

That is a good move. I always feel that we should keep this forum neat and clean. There are few posters who create one thread with signature link and then gets disappeared. Such post remains for days. Spammers are keeping their eye on this forum and take advantage of it..
