    Major NetBuilders Upgrade

We will be upgrading NetBuilders.org to vB4 by tomorrow. The upgrade itself shouldn't cause significant downtime, but you may notice the following:

    • Some functionality might be temporarily missing (until we upgrade/replace plugins and mods)
    • The theme will dramatically change (we will temporarily be on a default vB theme)

There may also be other weirdness as every major upgrade carries some risk of things going wrong. Feel free to report any issues you run into here.

Do you see a drop down menu near the bottom saying "vB4 Default Style"? You can use it to switch to the old one, but I think you'll want to revert back to the default one quickly because it's incompatible so it wont look and function well.

We wont be stuck to this theme permanently though. It's gonna be customized, and if a lot of people want a look similar to the old one that might be an option as well. Stay tuned.

So far it looks ok, I haven't tested much of it, but my first impressions are good.

It looks good, I like it.

However, one issue. I can access all the forums, but when I go to the content forum, I see an empty page, with the following

    "THE FRONT PAGE

There is no content in this section"

Is it just me, or is everyone noticing this?

    Thanks

Oops, that was the URL of a Content forum conflicting with the URL of the CMS since they were the same. I changed the CMS URL so it works now.

Just for knowledge, is it necessary first to upgrade VB 3.x.x to 4.0.8, then only can go for 4.1.2 (the latest version) ?

No, we went with 4.0.x first because more plugins are compatible with it than with 4.1.x. Once this changes we'll bump to 4.1.
