But .org almost carries as much if not as much weight in Google as a .com

Yeps.. Agreed. It carries the same weight as that of a .com.. I just like that .org bigger sounding pitch.

I don't think that the reddit link will stay long on top for long. I will overcome that link with my Sulumits Retsambew my blog. I am damn sure that the domains as well as blog with the domain name will eventually win the contest as I have previous experience in similar contest .

I love the reddit link up there. Not one of those posts has a thing to do with the keyword, yet the user name is everywhere, so it works.

We'll see,
every comment or post I make on reddit adds another cross-link to the user page.
Maybe with some external links the reddit user profile can give you a good fight

I think that the keyword or part of the keyword should not be allowed in the main domain as well as subdomains. The keyword in subfolders is okay but in domain as well as subdomain can get more weight in rankings. Hope Will might add this points to the contest rules. I would like to see a fair contest going .
