The reports that some mods have heard indicate that spammers simply ramp up their spam to get over the threshold, or simply post ten legitimate comments to avoid early detection.

A member (now former member) was busted today who started out posting legitimate responses and then all of a sudden the posts turned into 100% spam and unrelated comments.

Spammers are persistent. A 10 post threshold would not stop me if I believed that the signature links would benefit my sites.

Hmm we should make poll for our spammers what they think would drive them away of registering and posting on certain forums

Installed, although it is somewhat redundant with the .htaccess code above. I am a belt and suspenders kind of guy.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

That seems a lit bit funny. We can do a poll if they do participate. The best way is to reduce the number of signature. We should start seeing a decrease in the spammers.
