One of the main reasons I keep coming back to NB (other than all the great information) is because I have not seen any posts like that made by the mods here. I really hope that NB remains an open-minded forum which doesn't restrict its members from speaking their mind on any thread/issue like it is now. If such mod posts start becoming neccessary, then that might be a sign that things are going in the wrong direction and the root cause should be addressed rather than using "warning" messages such as these.

This is all very true, but I still feel that some sort of distinction would greatly help viewers.
Anyways, it's not my board. I'm just merely stating my opinion on the matter.

I cannot imagine that this wouldn't be necessary. Would you rather the thread be closed or deleted without warning?
I just don't understand how gentle warnings (I never said anything about being rude, unwelcoming, or hostile) can be avoided for eternity. I'm not new to managing online communities, I cannot say I have ever been able to avoid these warnings. I'm not sure what an alternative action would be.
