    Hi,

Not true about updates that dose not always mean it is needed.

As far as Win 3.1 NO because this new computer came with Win 7 Ultimate when I bought it. I was using XP. However my landlady has Win 98 and she says it work just fine for what she is doing online and has NO reason to update nor do I think her computer could run the newer version. lol

As far as wordpress version 1.0? Yes I was, up until a few weeks ago when I dropped the domain name. I had a site online that was running 1.? It worked just fine when I bought it as a mini site and I had NO reason to add anything new. So it was never updated and was running fine without a problem. So why? I am not paying for New theme work to be done just because WP makes a change.

I also know of an update that caused more problems to the owner then I think he wants to deal with.

I also have a friend the only car he owns is a 57 Chevy. He says, "Why should I buy a new one when this will get me everywhere I want to go, and I can work on it myself."

In the words of Bert Henry comedian, "Never try to keep up with your neighbors, for they might be newlyweds." LOL

And sometimes, one must spend money.

Are you still on Win 3.1?

Are you still on wordpress version 1.0?

I noticed that I could not load the site yesterday using FireFox. I still cannot get in with FireFox today, but it works fine with Internet Explorer.

When I try to load it using FF, it just hangs on a blank screen. The status bar says, "Transferring data from google-analytics.com". It looks to me like there my be a problem with FF and Google Analytics.

IE loads the correct NB theme.

Safari and Chrome load what looks like the default VBulletin theme.

This one of those very rare situations where IE is getting it right.

The vast majority of upgrades I initiate are due to security concerns. The evil denizens of the Internet prey on webmasters who fail to update their scripts to the latest versions within minutes of their release.

vBulletin just seems to get worse after every release. It is just to crufty to be stable.

We can't seem to make vBCMS work after the upgrade to 4.1.11. We've tried almost everything we can think of. The next step is a complete reinstall.

We are seriously considering making the switch to IPB or SMF.

I was on FF 10.0.2. I just upgraded to 11.0 and the site still does not work for me in FF, but does work with everything else. Wierd. I just get a blank screen that looks like it is trying to load. The View > Source does not work, so I can't see if it is hanging up in the code.

That is a very good reason to do an upgrade.

If you're getting a blank page on NB using any browser try clearing your cookies for NetBuilders.org (both Chrome and Firefox allow clearing for just one specific site instead of all of them). This is how I restored access. I think vB needs to reset cookies itself, but that apparently doesn't work either.
