Thread: Troubles with the Upgrade to vBulletin 4.1.11

The upgrade to vBulletin 4.1.11 broke the theme we are using - ShinyBlue. Unfortunately, it broke the theme with no error or warning messages giving us any guidance on exactly what was broken or how to fix it. We have been forced to update to the latest version of ShinyBlue -- which wiped out all of our customizations.

We're still working on this issue.

To make up for those of us who do not work.

Don't select MobileStyles>ShinyBlue in the drop down box. I got a white screen and had to delete a cookie to get rid of it.

Sucks to be you today. Sorry to hear the things giving you fits. If it makes you feel better I'm having all sorts of tech issues this week... Though come to think of it, if it actually makes you feel better to know I'm having tech issues too youre just a sick individual.

See, once you get big and got some bucks, you can hire all sorts of people to make sure that all the techie stuff works.

It's an update of the version, meaning it probably has fixes for things that weren't working correctly or fixes for security issues. That's the main reason why you should always upgrade the software you use

If the upgrade cost you money or time it is not an upgrade IMO it is a down grade

You have to upgrade, even if it takes time.
And sometimes, one must spend money.

Are you still on Win 3.1?

Are you still on wordpress version 1.0?

When the problems introduced by an upgrade are worse than the bugs that we had workarounds for before then I'd say this is a complete fail. More to the point, however, is that vB simply sucks at this point. It's behind times. Support sucks, it breaks too easily, and on top of that you have to pay for it. I can't see how this thing can have a bright future. Just my opinion though.
