On Shenron's suggestion, I raised the value of "Maximum Characters Per Private Message" from the default of 5,000 to a more reasonable value of 50,000.

How about the Time Spent Online: is it possible to get that turned off? Makes look like a junkie I have like 3 times the amount online of the owner. My bad for leaving the browser open but I am not sure what purpose it serves. Anyone disagree with it being removed?

vBulletin has some weird default settings.

I increased Tag Maximum Length from the default of 25 to the maximum of 100.

I also increased Maximum Tags Applied by Thread Starter from 5 to 10 and Maximum Tags Applied by Other Users from 2 to 10.
