Will,
I have to admit, when I write one to get PV's and backlinks to whichever site or site(s) of interest, I publish through Associated Content, display only so I have rights to republish then shoot it to Digg, yahoo buzz, stumbled upon...sometimes more if I have time. I have a good PR on my AC pubisher page, JavanX3d's Source Page - Associated Contentif you're extremely bored, so I find that targeted material gets indexed and picked up quick.
Anyway, at what point in the life of a site do you find it worthwhile to use a distro service? How much do you retool the material if at all? Primarily curious so I can get the blog indexed further and extend to some of the other sites I'm mucking with.
Cheers,
James
Very creative! I never thought of AssociatedContent as a good place to do parasitic hosting.
What PR do you see on that page today? I'm seeing a PR0.
I also don't see any outbound links on that page, or in any of your articles on that site.
At the very beginning, to get pages indexed and see where they rank without any "serious" SEO.
I use different articles for marketing than the ones I post on my sites.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
Ahh, gotcha now. Good content on the site, so-so for the marketing for the others!
Plenty of links in the articles, but by SEO Book and Google Toolbars now workey right now for some reason. For the sports, I've gone to listing the majority of the links at the bottom as refs if not publishing for backlink purposes (and some of the editors get weird in sports).
But yeah, the only thing you have to watch when doing the display only is making sure you (or the people you have submitting) don't choose one of the other liscense options for the post or they'll nuke it on the infrequent copyscape runs they do. The API can be slow to submit content (4-5 screens) so not really something I would want to do on a large scale personally.
Cheers,
James
Great, old thread.
So, ArticlePool is the way to go? $18 per month is not that much money, and I could give it a try. Is there a better service?
It's $18 per month ONLY if you pay 1 year in advance.![]()
I think 1 month only is $36, though I'm not sure and can't load their page atm.

Did ArticlePool just change their prices?! I was going to sign up (supposed to be $38 for a month), and now it's $5 per article. Wtf?
