Article marketing is not what it used to be with all the Google algorithm changes. Even big sites like ezinearticles.com have been affected greatly and have lost massive traffic. I still do article marketing from time to time but only stick to top directories, otherwise there no real benefit anymore.

Some great knowledge about article writing here. Using ezine has cause me some problems with webmasters stealing my articles without preserving the links. It takes quite a bit of trouble to hunt those people down.

Not anymore. I find guest posting a way better choice than submitting articles to directories.

Neither article submissions nor guest posting are a good idea according to Matt Cutts.

I write a blog post every week, and try to ad them to about 10 different directory sites, but it is getting tougher to write creatively in a way that no-one else does, and have your links accepted. Only High PR/DA of course, but it\s still getting tougher - especially now that Google may see it as SPAM.

To obtain the maximum benefit from your quality and interesting content each article should submit on a high pr article submission site and every unique content must submitted to different reputable article site to avoid duplication.

A high PR directory means nothing if only the home page has a high PR. The only PR that matters is the PR for the page where your article appears. The home page PR is not relevant.

All of the inner pages on most directories have an PR of n/a on all of the inner pages, which means those directories have already been penalized and are a bad place for your auricles and links.

Forgive me if I state the obvious, but aren't Google going to mark these directories down in the near future, so they are ceasing to become a link source?

Google has been penalizing poor quality directories (which includes about 99% of all directories) since around 2005. Now they are penalizing web sites that get listed in poor quality directories.
