ezinearticles.com has alexa 255 and compete 129, now that's impressive!

Especially considering they do pretty much um.. nothing. Just let you submit articles and "sortof" review them. When you come to think about it - that's probably the best business model there is only!

And there are thousands of other sites having absolutely the same articles. So what do you say? Persistent growth over long enough period of time beats the competition in google serps

I wonder what's their cpm

That's what I notice with my older/larger sites.
With one of those, each time I post a new article I get to G page 1 or 2 in less than 5 minutes, even for competitive keywords.

A few minutes ago I was checking my inbox, and I saw there were quite a lot of 'unwanted' emails.. So I decided to check it out

The first email was posted from EzineArticles, it said 'What are YOU missing on Twitter'. Because of my recent success with Twitter, I decided to take a look, I might learn something new over there...

Than I saw the first thing, which was the following:

Golden rule of HTML for Article Writers: Every HTML tag you OPEN, must be CLOSED. Essential HTML Skills For Article Authors - 7 Tips

I found it amusing already, most people by know should know that if you open a tag you should close it, but newbies may not know that, so I clicked the link.

The title said 'Essential HTML Skills....' and this is the link to the article.

Than I read what was inside, and I was really having fun

I mean, are those essential skills? I'm having amazing skills right now, because Bold tags, Italic tags and so on are not even skills IMHO.. They are just the basics from HTML.

At the bottom of the article, I saw the writer and I found out it was someone who was working over there? It might be an admin, I'm not into the Ezine marketing, so I'm not sure.. But I mean, an article explaining about essential skills and which speaks about bold and italic tags, by somebody who has been doing HTML and probably a lot of other scripting languages.. it made me laugh...

Thanks Ezine, I should read more articles from now on

What are your views on this? Am I totally wrong, or do you agree that it's funny?

I was recently in EzineArticles looking for ideas for some articles I wanted to write. I was a bit surprised with all of the misinformation and poorly written articles I found.

Most of the articles I looked at said absolutely nothing and were completely useless. Many offered unquestionably bad advice.

The average quality of articles there is indeed pretty low... but hey, someone has to read all these articles we publish. I mean besides googlebot

Sorry, that was my bad.

The whole bit about chicken liver curing cancer -- that turned out to be a mistranslation.

And umm... don't drink cow urine. That whole article was a misunderstanding. Sorry.
