Blog commenting VS SEO article writing

I decided to start a thread where we can discuss advantages/disadvantages if compare blog commenting and SEO article writing. Recently I came across paidforumposting.com and got to know they offered blog commenting and article writing services. What is better for me and why? maybe both? Any comments please?

Blog commenting is worthless. It has zero SEO value. WordPress automatically adds the nofollow attribute to links in comments, which effectively neuters them.

Article writing also has zero SEO value if the articles are posted in blog networks (almost all have been penalized by Google), or free article repository sites (also penalized). If people repost the articles from free article sites, they rarely provide links and the duplicate content is eventually penalized. The only value article writing would have is if the articles are 100% unique and posted on your web site.

Neither of these techniques drives any real traffic these days. The increased traffic they appear to produce is mostly from spiders and bots.

Agreed on TopDogger Blog commenting has many scratches these nowadays because of abusing this method in order to manipulate the rankings.
It would be better on Article writing, Write a content that is interesting and engaging to others. Talk to your targeted audience through this great content.

Article writing wins without question, as long as the articles are unique and posted on your own sites.

Matt Cutts recently hinted that they were going to target guest blogging, so unless you write good quality articles, that could end up biting you as well.

    Just content people.
    I never comment on blogs.
And this subject has a few other threads here.

Yawn. If you comment on a top blog with a huge following then it is not worthless IMO.

Okay. I want to modify my comment. "Blog commenting for SEO purposes is worthless."

I personally have never seen any reason to follow a link back to a blog commenter's website, so blog comments drive zero traffic from me.

Big following does not equate to readers of comments.
Same with me, I rarely if ever click on a link in some comment.
    Now Reddit?
Got to love some of the stuff there and the links to more stuff.

Article writing is more appropriate if you want to increase your site's visibility and traffic.
I actually find articles more resourceful. And if you are creative enough you can re-use your articles without duplicating its content.
