Thread: 5 Solid Blogging Tips

  1. Smile 5 Solid Blogging Tips

    Hi!

Here is a list of five solid blogging tips that you must always keep in mind:

Using a Clean Design- A blog does not have to have all the latest technology and trendy stuff to be effective. A simple, clean design – with quality and rocking content – will compete with the other designs every time. KISS- Keep It Simple Stupid!

Skip the ads in the beginning- It is very obvious that a brand new website is not going to earn much from private ads, so why keep them? It really does not leave a good impression on people if they see a week old blog and all 'advertise here' banners. (Even AdSense, why? you may just earn a bit)

Go Blog Commenting on The Right Blogs- Blog commenting is a key method of getting targeted traffic. Pick a blog in your niche and things will go well. Try and target smaller blogs as the owner may come and comment on your blog.

Use social media- Social media is THE best way to get traffic in early stages of your blog. Just make a few friends on sites like Digg and StumbleUpon. Things will sail! I remember Let's Sermo was just three weeks when it got 7k visits from StumbleUpon in a day.

Do not leave out SEO- Search Engine traffic is gold, do not forget to optimize your site for them. As time flies search engine traffic will increase.

Have any other tips to add?

    Cheers!

but still the decision from reader to visit your blog again/no is come from quality of the contest. Good SEO, good design, No ads, but the article is bad, probably there is not too many visitors

Yes, I agree that those are the basics.
    And what about:
    • Write guest posts on blogs in the same niche than yours,
    • Interest your readers; write unique content and make them want to stay on your blog.

Great tips! I am curious, for Private Ads how should I get good advertisers? Do I post on forums looking for advertisers? Or should I try a website that provides a service like that?

Forums are the best place when your site is new, as direct advertisers may not contact you.

Yeah, exactly. When we start a website its enough to use forums for promoting the website. Ads also do a very good role here.

Great and effective tips. I always digg updations.

Your post says "ten" but then you only gave five.

And content, content, content. If your content is boring, unpersonal, or just a rehashing of the same old stuff, nobody will give a d*** about what you write.

anyway how about promote our new site but using paid-advertisement such adword, etc?? It's too risky?

about clean design, i'm very agree, since not all people have good internet connection so i think to use simple design is the right choice

I agree with the ads, why bother when you're going to make $2 a month.

Better of waiting until you pull in 500 daily uniques

True, tons of blogs I currently have have no ads on them yet. They might get ads once the website gets more returning visitors And you may believe it or not, but Twitter is still doing the best for me, it's such an easy way to advertise your website
