7 Possible Problems With Your Blog

• Not having a logo - Branding is important in the blogging world, just as it would be for any other business. Get some sense of identity with a logo early on, and start marketing your blog as a business, rather than just another small blog on the Internet.
  
  
• Not having your own domain - The BIGGEST possible mistake you can make is using a .wordpress or a .blogspot. You cut down 99% of advertiser prospects and leave a bad impression on your readers too.
  (If you don't have a domain/hosting just let me know I'll try and help you out)
  
  
• You keep changing your theme - Some bloggers think this is cool and their readers will love it..WRONG. Loyal readers hate it when you keep changing themes as they have to keep adjusting.
  
  
• Not having a tag line - Your blog should have a clear tag line that is relevant to your blog's content. This makes all your new readers aware of your blog's content.
  
  
• Missing out on basic On Page SEO - On page SEO is something that is a must for all blogs. Plugins like the All-in-one-SEO plugin for WordPress make things very easy.
  (I know I have to work on this one for Let's Sermo..irony!)
  
  
• Not having a fixed niche - I made this mistake with Let's Sermo. It was a mixed bag and was doing pathetically till I focused on one niche. (Earlier I just had 30 feed subscribers, now I am nearing 500 and it gets 25-8,000 monthly visits)
  
  
• You do not encourage comments - Always end your posts with questions and ask your readers to share their views. Remember- Each comment raises your blogs value.

Not Using Images

Images help visitors get hooked on your posts when they're browsing the index. A great image can make a great post.

Crappy Headlines

A great headline should be descriptive, have obvious benefits to the readers, and describe the content of the blog post.

Being witty will work maybe once out of 10 times, unless all of your titles are meant to be hilarious. Most times, however, it's better to stick with the "how-to" or "# ways to" formula.

Cheap/Common Design

Your design is part of your branding - put some time into it. Nobody wants to read from an ugly site, and you don't want your visitors coming to your blog feeling as if they've seen the same thing over and over. Learn to tweak your own theme or hire a designer.

Can I add a few problems too:

Not proofreading your posts
Some people are just too much in a hurry to click the publish button without proof reading their posts for grammar and syntax.

Lack of organization
Some blogs are really difficult to read. Blogs should be easy on the eyes.

Frequency over quality
Some people just post for the sake of maintaining their frequency, without caring for the quality of the post. Nobody needs to know that you are on vacation, what is your Alexa rank, your great grandmother's sister's aunty's daughter just gave birth and so on. A quality post per month is better that a load of crap everyday.

Great tips. I especially agree with lack of organization. That plays a huge role in theme. Your blog should be easy-to-read and the design should be centered around the content.

Here are some more I wanna add:

Constantly moving your blog to new domain names
Moving your blogs often losses you readers and search engine placement.

Not having a clear niche
This is a big problem, whereby your visitors do not know what your blog is about.

Having too many empty ads on your blog
Its looks spammy, it gives you the tag of a newbie (not many people wanna advertise with you)

Not doing any research on blogging
As a blogger, you should not go ahead and post what you believe. You may be wrong. Research on what you are going to post, provide facts.

Having terrible navigation
You have to follow the rule of "no more than two click to destination". Create a site-map, or navigation bar for easy access to different pages.

Create a sneeze page (sorry cannot paste URLs)
