    Any Other Blogging Platforms?

Aside from the usual Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, Terapad, Blinklist, etc. is there anything blogging platforms that you can suggest on me?

Typepad is used quite a bit.
Or as I say, google is your friend.
    Do try a search.

You can always publish HTML pages to the web and optimize them for page speed and SEO if you don't care about comments.

I say this since most blogs die off quickly after the first month or 2, only get spam comments, and then are vulnerable to security flaws because they used a common target such as WordPress.

    Have you tried Blogcatalog?

So why bother publishing HTML pages?
Only die off like blogs quickly after the first month or 2.
If wordpress was so bad for security flaws, why is it still the number one blog platform choice?

    Blogcatalog is a DIRECTORY!
    Not a blogging platform.

HTML pages are maintenance-free in regard to security. I don't believe that they die off like a blog whose purpose is to provide regularly updated time-stamped information such as news, hot topic information, etc.

HTML is good, nothing against sites built that way.
Google though does tend to rank wordpress sites higher than html sites.
    Security is good.
    But back to two things.
    1. Poster wants a blogging platform, not html or non-blogging platforms.
    2. HTML sites do die off if not updated frequently.

Point 1: agree, I was diverging from the original intent of the thread.

Point 2: that should apply to any site that is in competitive niches. The most up-to-date info. should get a boost.

I think that blog sites can get more inbound links more easily, such as being in Blog Search, referenced by other bloggers, and pinged places etc.

Wordpress and Bloggers are still dominating since they have strengths which can not be found on other platforms. Wordpress comes with millions of free themes and plugins while Blogger blogs are easier to rank since it belongs to google.
If you're looking for other platform, search vmoptions and you'll find a list on that site.

Wordpress comes with millions of free themes and plugins
Is that true and/or a good thing? Scary!
