Thread: Automated Blogs?

Hi!

Many people are ripping of content from other blogs and creating, Auto Blogs.

And surprisingly some of them are earning and are being sold for upto 14k USD!!

Do you support this? Do you like this idea?
I am totally against this. It is not fair that you rip off people who spend time and money crafting blog posts.

Well, I'm not much into "autoblogs", but here's my view.

There's nothing illegal, maybe slightly un-ethical. The autoblogs who "rip-off" content from article directories, forums, RSS feeds keep your resource boxes, backlinks and stuff intact (they have to, in case they don't THAT'S unethical to say the least). So, when they rip, they're actually benefiting you as well.

When the RSS feed thing was discussed in past, this thing was discussed as well. Not that I'm in favor or against autoblogging, but when one oneself is "kind of" giving away his content -- other people may use it with proper credits.

Yes, this method is absolutely untolerable, if ever I catch someone doing that my content, I'll get a script to overload his servers!

The sad facts is, as you said, that they do make incomes from this and even if you manage to get their blog (or website) closed, the day after there wil be two more.

Personally I think the autoblogs that show an extract of your blog post and then then have a link to the full article are great ideas, as they will eventually help your blog

I don't agree with full autoblogs where they steal your article though. I mean, it's even worse if they rank higher in search engines as they might actually do better than you by using your article!

I agree with Swastik. If there's nothing illegal about pulling content from other blogs and posting it - as long as you leave all resource links intact - then a) it benefits the original poster by giving new backlinks and b) you get free content. How can that be bad?

Heck, most people HOPE that people actually take their EZA articles and post them on their blogs or wherever so they CAN build backlinks. At least I hope they do. Sure, I'm hoping for the resource box click and a sale, but backlinks can only help me.

So if they do this and are earning money good for them. Sell for $14K? Sign me up for an auto-blog!

My two cents.

Firstly, I have seen most auto blog's have low PR. So no link juice.

Secondly, there is a small possibility that the auto blog may rank higher than you. (PR and SERPS are two different things)

And lastly, just because you steal content and leave a backlink....that does NOT make it legal. The original blogger can still get his site closed. Leaving a link back does not make anything legal.

And if ever someone else want to show your content on his site, he has to ask you first. After all, you're the one who did all the efforts!

I gotta say, that Swastik was right. There are pros and cons to autoblogging.

I have been using a plugin that auto posts content from articlebase articles and posts to your blog of course it leaves the resource box. I have been using this on a weight loss blog and have seen a doubling of my traffic and adsense revenue.
