Thread: Blog Page - Is This a Good Idea?

OKay, just too lazy to search and hunt around for this.

Each blog has pages. Usually listed at the top of the blog.
About, Advertise, blah blah blah.

Now, is this a good idea?
Has or does anyone do this?

And that is sell advertising in that the advertiser gets his/her own page?

Advertising (within reason as to length) can have a page just for their ad.

And what kind of monthly or yearly cost would one place on this type of advertising?

For pricing, you might sign up with TLB to see what they price a page on your site at -- and then double it for direct sales.

That advertising is for adding pages to your website.
Completely different than pages on a blog.

How would you say that "pages on a website" differ from "pages on a blog"?

90+% of the websites are built in Wordpress, but only 1% of my websites are blogs...

What I am saying, is that the few ad networks I checked out, sell static pages on websites.
Or blog posts.
But none that I could see specifically stated a page on a blog.
Again, I am talking about the pages found on blogs usually at the top "About" and so forth.

The ad networks probably would allow and let me sell such pages.
Guess I would have to join and see.

One drawback would be the page title obviously to be shown on the blog would have to be short like "Bob's Page"

I understand what you are doing dawg. I was thinking on that line my self onetime.

It would be hard to set a price. The only thing I can see is it would never make the ft page of the blog. The plus would be another way to promote like having your own private article page. The page would be fun way to make extra money

The page could be one huge advertisement for a product.

I have seen this done on some blogs.
How much they charge I do not know.

I have also seen a lot of blogs use a page to advertise an affiliate product.
Which I already do on my blogs.
And to be truthful, I am going to expand that a lot.
Just need to find super products to promote on each blog.

And just forget the idea of selling a page to anyone.

I think it is a great idea. Just don't over do it.

Hey Dawg... i see what you're saying. The charity WP blog I'm doing has the type of page access you're talking about, and yeah, it'd be pretty easy to do it that way. Not sure how much traffic the add would get on it's own page, there's a reason folks like to have their ad sandwiched by content. Be interesting to try though. Let us know if you do it. I've no idea what you'd charge on that. Good luck with it.

Okay, tried it out on one blog.
Put up two pages, both of which are leading to affiliate products.
And bam!
Made a few sales already!

When I have time to find more appropriate products to fit each blog, will do the same to each of my blogs.

As far as selling a page?
Have not even tried.
But I have seen on other forums where people do sell pages and get some pretty hefty prices.
Especially adult blogs!
Hmmm.....maybe that is what I need? hahahahahhahaha
