    Blogging Traffic Affiliate Case Study

    In this case study I will attempt to teach and succeed in the field of blog traffic affiliate marketing.

    As usual, we need a nice domain name with the keyword in it.

    But, as a first step, I research the keyword and find that the blog traffic keyword has 49,500 monthly global searches according to the Google Keyword External Tool.

    So if we attain #1 Google ranking, we should make some good money from our visitor traffic converting on our affiliate links related to getting Blogging Traffic.

    To make this work, it is easier if we can get an exact match keyword, so I will search on and see what comes up.

    As expected, the .com, .org, and .net were already taken, but interestingly, the .info was available for just $2.99 with free whois guard. So I decided to go with this for a challenge.

    One thing to remember about the taken domains is that they may not be built sites i.e. cyber-squatting, so they may offer low competition. If you were not as lazy as me, you would check them all out.

    OK, so step 1 is to research your keyword. Step 2 is to register a good domain to go with it.

    I did these steps now i.e. I confirmed that my keyword is in demand, and I registered a domain containing the keywords. Total cost so far: $2.99

    Look out for the updates.

    Edit: You may notice that I already link on this keyword in my forum sig. but this is for another domain name that is at #11 in the serps. Also, I was thinking to register a domain called blogtrafficer before I spotted that the .info was available.

    Sidenote: with no competition, you can easily rank #1 for a great brand name. I have an example in: Resource Box Wizard

    With a basic web template in place on the domain name, it's time to create the home page content.

    For this, I will simply write about what I consider to be the main components of gaining blog traffic, and have H2 headings with popular keywords that I plucked out of the Google Keywords Tool.

    So I already have an idea for what to write about, but I use the keywords tool to make sure that I select popular keywords for my heading titles.

    The aim here is to create a home page containing useful unique content that will engage the visitors landing on the page from the search engines.

    Later, I will blend in Ads, and link to the site to start the ranking process, and monetization.

    Update: So I added the unique content to the home page, and for monetization I looked for a related product on ClickBank where the product owner provides support material for affiliates.

    In my first niche site case study, I monetized with Adsense and eBay, but in this one I am using ClickBank. The method I am using to get clicks is to provide minimal exit paths from the page. When people read my page, I hope that they find my content interesting, and at the time to leave the page, I give them minimal options i.e. there are minimal exit paths. In my case, they can close the page, hit the back button, check out the privacy page (who wants to do that), or click my image Ad that provides more relevant content.

    So this is where I'm at now, the site content has been built and monetized. So the next step is to drive traffic to this brand new site to tap into the circa 50K visitors per month for our keyword and make $30 per sales conversion.

    Recently I started implementing ideas for sites that I haven't got much time to work on yet. This is one of them.

    But to kick off some link building I submitted the URL to socialmonkee, I explain more about this service in my blog post about how to build links to a blog which is currently linked in my forum signature.

    This involves submitting a URL, title, description, and tags with the last 3 items in spin syntax, this allows for a variety of different versions of the link backs to be produced. Here is the example data that I submitted:

    URL: the url

    The title:
    {Blog traffic|How to increase blog traffic|Get blog traffic|Increase blog traffic}

    The description:
    {Learn how to increase your blog traffic|How to boost your blog traffic|Easy ways to increase blog traffic|Get more visitors to your blog|Blog traffic secrets revealed|Send your visitor stats through the roof}

    Response from the submission service:
    Your submission has been scheduled.
    Your report will be generated when the submission is completed.

    I can re-submit daily, so I am likely to tweak the above data such as adding full stops to the descriptions and improving the titles etc.

    So hopefully, this gives you an idea as to how to form the spin syntax code. Check out my forum signature links for more detailed information.
