    Doing a Blog Co-Op

I'm not sure if "co-op" is the right term to use. Have any of you ever owned a blog and managed it alongside someone else? I've considered doing that for awhile, but I don't know who I could trust. For example, I could write the content and help promote, while someone else does the technical stuff I am not 100% good at.

If you have done something like this, share your experience! How did it work out? How do you make something like that secure?

Do you mean "technical stuff" as editing the theme files, logging in to cpanel and all??

If yes, i don't think you can do it since if your partner goes mad,you will loose control of your site..

Well no, I mean managing the SEO aspect and the deeper parts of webmastering that I don't fully understand yet. I understand that in any circumstance a partner can take control and kick a person out of the game, which is why I'm asking for advice from others.

Nothing specific is in motion yet, I'm just curious!

I get it. You are a content producer and willing to work to get traffic to your site while the coders take care of the tech stuff.

You are a perfect match for my coming blog network "with a twist". but it isn't available yet.

I think both admins should do a little bit of both, technical stuff, and promoting.

The main issue comes if the blog gets very popluar and most of the visitors come directly..then the person who undertook SEO, Social Bookamrking etc work will not be required anymore..then only the content drives the blog and the "writer" may feel that the his partner is not an integral part of the blog anymore..

I'm currently doing this. I.e. I do SEO, manage 'ALL' technical stuff and 'EVERYTHING', all my partner(close-friend) does is adds an article a week(rewritten - as he knows nothing about SEO-my niche)...I curse myself for having included him initially but now i'm totally completely helpless. Can't afford to lose a friend for the sake of my site
Am planning on opening a new website, this one wholly will be just 'MINE'

I've co-managed a whole network of blogs and if your partner dips out, you're left doing twice as much work as you had been doing, and it sucks. Be very careful about who you partner with.
