Question Facts About Blogging That You Must Know

    Hi,

I decided to make this list to help all the new bloggers out here.

Blogging takes more time then you might think- You should consider getting a partner or someone to work under you if you are low on time.

Your blog's design speaks volumes-Try and invest a bit in it, if content is King then the design is Queen.

Your presentation must be good- Present your content in a way that it is easy for new readers to find the older posts they might find interesting.

Use Tags- Tagging is an essential way to add information to help people find similar posts. It also helps search engines.

Your readers hate typo's- Always run a spell check. It speaks bad of you if you make spelling or grammatical mistakes.

Search Engines are here to stay- Do not concentrate too much on social media. Make your site as SEO'd as possible.

People still use Internet Explorer 6- Yes, it is a fact. Optimize your site for as many browsers as possible.

Consistent Traffic Is Almost Impossible- Although posting needs to be consistent to keep traffic levels around the same, that doesn’t mean that it will keep traffic levels consistent. Every blog has periods of ups and downs and two days are rarely the same.

Feel free to add some more.

    Cheers!

It speaks badly of you too, haha. But seriously people, when did the internet decide to have a standard of poor grammar and composition? Study up on the language you're blogging in and make a real effort. Grammar isn't useless, it's there so people can understand your ideas clearly.

Nowadays, many sites and companies have started to drop support for IE6. Hopefully, the entire web will soon follow this trend too.

I mean this as a serious question: why do people who don't speak English well start blogs in English? Wouldn't it be easier to write in your own language? Just wondering...

Anyways to improve your grammar, read. Books, not blog posts.

Is there proof of this? I know practice makes perfect for writing, but if you don't actually have a way to judge what's right from wrong, you'll just stay at the same level. :/

I have to agree with Corey. If no one corrects you, you'll never know what path are you taking.

Well, and I speak for myself here, blogging does help improve our writing skills. In my case, I'm use to read a lot and care for the quality of my articles. I always proofread my texts and check for phrases that might not sound logical or are hard to understand at first sight.

Due to the nature of my career (I'm a web developer), I've been forced to learn english because almost all manuals are written under that language. So, even if I didn't want to, I ended up learning english in the process. Of course, I can't claim that I've mastered it - I still have a lot to learn. However, I can say that I know enough to express my ideas clearly (even though I make mistakes sometimes).

Blogging does help, but only if you are interested in learning the language and continuosly look to improve your knowledge of it. It's just a matter of practice and determination.
