My question is where in wordpress do I find what I need for the part between <form ...> and </form> So I can make it work please?

Why bother if you have wordpress?
Wordpress already has a nice search function for your blog.

So I can give it away If this is what I am looking for it will be add on to ff and will go in the box along side the others.

I don't understand the need for it either, but if you add a script called searchform.php to your theme and include the search form code in there, WordPress will use that form rather than the default form built into WordPress. I'm not sure if this works if you are using widgets.
