    How long?

Just wondering how long people make their blog posts?

Personally mine are usually around 600 words: I find this is the optimum length because I can write all the info that's needed, but it isn't too long so that the reader gets bored.

    What about you?

I really don't care about the length, as long as I get the point across.

If you can get the point in 500 words instead of 700...GOOD!

Agree with farrhad. And i'm usually make 250-350 word post only, and i check it via word count feature on ms word.
Yes, i'm as a reader, in the start, get interested with some article, but when i read it and find it's too long, i become lazy and stop reading. But I'm continue reading it, i just bookmark it. So, don't make your content too long

Yeah, I can see your points.

The thing is, once I start writing I actually find it quite hard to stop as my brain is being flooded with ideas. I find that there are ways to break up the post and make it more readable by, mainly by using pictures and paragraphs, but is is possible

If you make 700-800 word or even 1000 word, it's OK simon. In way to prevent reader lazyness, you can make it into different part and post it in another time. For example today you post part 1 of your article, and then tommorow is part 2. How?

Yeah, series do work pretty well, and they also create returning visitors because people see part one and come back to see part 2, but personally I prefer to just make my point in a single article unless it's a long topic.

    Hmm, not always simon
There is many case (i'm included also) after read part 1, i'm not purpose to read part 2. That's why it's depend on your article, interesting/no.
So, in case making series article in way to make it more shorter, need a strategy. You should to make part 1 interesting. And in way to do this, i think some sentences should be added on part 1, even it's will make part 1 become more longer from it plans. The sentences can be a humour or offering something if their read part 2.

    For example :
Oh yeah, i'm also have e-book to make you easier in doing this method. I will give it to you on part 2 of this article. Make sure to come back and cehck. Thanks...!!!

My average for the articles I am writing (yeah, I write them before my blog is even online :P) is about 300 words.

And it's enough! More than often, I don't need more since I can make my point in a few lives. Although there are more descriptive articles that are way longer... :P
