    Need Blogging Advise

    Hi,

I'want to start a few small blogs.

So - do y'all have recommendations for hosts? I don't want to put them on my own host, as I'll be moving my sites, soon I hope, to a VPS. But I want to get my blogs started.

Is GoDaddy a good blog host? Do they offer Wordpress? (I looked and didn't see it, and I most definitely want wordpress. Kalina has a theme that will fit my lovely grandma's memorial blog perfectly).

If they don't offer wordpress, I need recommendations.
Also, I will be purchasing my domains through Godaddy of course, so, if I get hosting elsewhere, how does that work?

I should know all of this, but atm I'm confused. Not having a good day.

Firstly, I hope your day improves. We all have bad times. Just relax it will pass.

GoDaddy is a good host and yes you can host and have domains at different places.

Yes you can host a WP blog, you have to install it though.

More than GoDaddy I recommend WP Web Host.

Also there are other good hosts like K-Disk.net and CheapFFMpeg.com.

For a host, I'd recommend ThisWebHost.com, in the cPanel (as with most hosts) you're able to setup a WordPress blog with just 2 or 3 clicks.

When you purchase hosting, enter the domain you'll be using, but make sure you select the option of 'Registered elsewhere'. When the hosting is setup, they'll give you the Nameserver information (e.g. ns1.thiswebhost.com and ns2.thiswebhost.com), you then go to your domain registrar and enter this information in the Nameserver fields (which you'll probably find under DNS Settings). Within 24 hours, everything will be working like clockwork.

That's how that works, using a different registrar and host.

If you need any more help, feel free to send me a PM.

I have to agree with Farrhad's recommendation of WPWebHost.

I've been through numerous hosting companies now and these are by far the best. Not only are they great at hosting, but they also have a support team of Wordpress specialists, so it's also easy to get great support that is actually helpful.

You might want to avoid GoDaddy for hosting your blog, expecially since their prices are hich for what they offer and that their support isn't one of the most appreciated on earth. That is why you should try either K-disk (which is a small company at the moment) or WPWebHost.

I heard that Justhost.com were pretty good too.

If you're not looking for specialized hosting but you want a great host with great customer service I would go for DreamHost. They've always got some kind of deal going on as well so pricing isn't too high.
