Tips - Increaing Your Subscriber Count

Heya!

Everyone wants to have many people reading their feeds.
Even if you get lot of traffic, it may not convert.

Here are some tips which I use to increase my blog's subscriber count:

- Use a good subscribe icon. An attractive catchy one will do the trick.

- If you are using WordPress, use a plugin like Subscribe Remind.

-Include E-mail subscriptions- Not everyone out there has a feed reader.

-Hold a contest- This will kick your count up, but there are very high chances that they will unsubscribe after the contest.

To get more subscribers, two things are really very important:

- Getting more eyeballs - It's obvious, more traffic, more people convert.
- Making it easier for them - You made it clear with your post.

Do that two, and be a little creative with your methods, you'll do quite good.

Making it easy is most essential.

Also, I will post an example of a dedicated subscription box, like i am doing on my blog.

Thanks for the tips, and yes I was using most of them when I was having my blog. Except for the contest though. And my e-mail subscription software wasn't at all ideal. I'll focus on that when I will launch my new project.

Isn't checking on people who subscribe for a contest pretty hard? Ah well. I should get e-mail subscriptions though.

Yeah, I want email suscriptions too. How do you get them? :$

BTW, contests are in my opinion pretty useless for RSS as loads of the readers just leave when the contest is over :(

Although I'm not a blogger right now, these tips will come in handy for the future, so thanks! :)

I think the ideal if you have to run a contest is to set the rules like this:


-Contestants have to suscribe to your blog with the e-mail form,
-Same with the RSS feed,
-A mimnimum of one quality comment is required.


Even if they unsuscribe from your feed, you still have their e-mails! ;p

Well, you use feedburner to do email subscriptions. After setting it up, go to 'Publicize >> Email Subscriptions'.
