Thread: Tips for Starting a Blog

Lately I started a new blog in the Weight Loss Niche and I'm really enjoying it, and it got me thinking ...

Do what you enjoy doing and it is not like work.

The most profitable niches are:

• health
• wealth
• happiness

They are kind of inter-twined don't you think?

So I suggest that you identify one of your passions and align it with one of these 3 niches to start a blog.

For health we have: weight loss, fitness, medical topics, healthy eating etc.

In wealth we have: how to manage your money, investment and saving tips, being frugal etc.

For happiness we have: dating tips, how to keep your marriage exciting, how to fix what has gone wrong in your life, how to be happy with what you have etc.

So I suggest to any net builder to set a 2012 goal to establish 3 high quality blogs in these niches to create a solid foundation for your blog empire if you haven't done so already.

B2B are also good paying niches. These type of sites are great if you can align them to expertise that you have or are looking to learn extra skills as part of a professional development course of study.

I have a lot of experience of electronic design, but I never saw much potential in blogging about it since there is an abundance of high quality material already published by component makers. And for programming, I would write articles for popular sites such as codeproject.com, and post to stackoverflow.com (which I do) since I think that would gain you professional recognition (since your responses are voted on by the community, and you a guaranteed an audience).

Hobbies can be a good way to align your blog with materials that could be ordered online. For example, I came across an interesting blog about making flying machines to carry video cameras to do aerial photography. So people need to buy the gear or kits to construct their own ones. And it's an addictive blog since they keep building new models and testing them.

So if you blog about your passion or area of expertise, it is much easier, and enjoyable than trying to conquer a niche that you are neither skilled in or particularly interested in.

The idea of blogging about what you are learning in a new subject could be a good idea. Maybe you would get followers who are interested in learning the same things too? The "my journey" kind of blog e.g. my journey to becoming a competent cook, my journey from shy boy to pick-up artist, my journey from homeless to lord of the manor etc.

If you are good at writing stories, maybe a fictitious story blog could work? Then Ads could be aligned with the subject matter of the chapters of the blog.

Also make sure to write only original, useful and interesting articles on your blog (regularly) to not just get continuous free traffic, but also high rankings.

If one want to make start with the blog and want to create quality blogs then need to raise knowledge about the topic on which they want to develop article or blog. And if can not decide the topic then need to start with their passion and develop articles on topic for which they are passionate about. And turn your passion into profession and then see what kind of best results you will get.

I would be the first to say this is not always the case. I wish it was, just because you are passionate about a topic don't mean that your site will earn money.

I was told long ago if you are in love with earning money, then go after money with the love of earning it
