Thread: traffic question ?

Here my story :
every monday my traffic increase alot (30% - 80%), then drop 5% daily till sunday, monday it up again ..... (march stat only, just start the site recently)

Traffic stat (march):
First week 297uv (mon), 450uv (fri), 480(sat), 570 (sun)
second week 920uv(mon), 848(fri), 785(sat), 919(sun)
third week 1520uv (mon), 1259 uv(fri), 1010(sat), 1250uv (sun)
Fourth week 1999 uv (mon), 1841 uv (tue), 1676uv (wed), 1552 (thursday), 1446 (friday), 1114 (sat), 1387 (sun) .... keep dropping
Traffic Source
90% from Google SE,
0.5% from Yahoo.
8% direct.
1.5 referring site
Bounce rate 45%
pageview 3.8

My question is does google do some major twist on Monday ? or i did something wrong there ?

I'm guessing you're in Malaysia? Your Monday, is the U.S's Sunday which means that traffic goes down over the weekend.

i understand weekend traffic should be lower then week day, question is every monday huge traffic increase, is 30-80% increase from last monday ...
so would love to know google did any change, twist, update on sunday ?
btw 95% traffic is local ...

What is your site niche? I have seen few sites on sports and wallpapers whose traffic goes up on weekends.

I don't think so there is a Google update on Sunday..etc. a fixed day...
If Google do this on Sunday, we all must have seen a loss or increase in the traffic on Sunday.. I can't see any changes on Monday.

There must be any of the following theory:
1.) You must be working hard and getting backlinks or adding content..etc.
2.) Depend upon your site niche.
3.) Weekend Effect. Some sites traffic goes down on weekend, some sites traffic goes up..

May be on that day your site gets more traffic from other countries such as USA..etc. Did you ever checked from where your site traffic coming from on Monday?

yah agree work very hard on content but no link building (i think that main reason with unstable traffic).
very sure is local traffic cause i target long tail keyword (only local will understand )

No worry, i just wonder why monday is higher then keep dropping till next monday , should be my site layout or poor link building

Could it not simply be that all those people who didn't search over the weekend finally get around to searching on Monday when they are back in town, at work, or otherwise freed up with access to search the web?

yah possible ... i will monitor for another few week, i try create another web with similar content see the response

Look at your analytics to see where the traffic increase/decrease is from.

I think you must check the location from where your site is getting traffic . Than check time zones of all those countries. I am in asia and we move one day forward from many countries . So our monday is sunday for other country regions .

increase and decrease traffic all from local ....

last week stat :

Today (monday) :
up till 22.00 pm (local time), i hit 2.4k UV with three hour down time (some idiot hack and delete my site during peak hour).
total UV for monday is 3129, compare with last monday, another 30% increase
This is just my curiosity, it really funny, everything up on monday and drop slowly, bounce up again on monday ....
