Looks good! One more suggestion, replace the default photo in the header.

In the end I used my old logo for the site, the quirky weightlossninja graphic that my wife designed a few years ago, and I removed the standard photo slideshow that comes with the theme.

My next move should probably be to build links to the existing posts. The traffic is not bad already though with 41 daily uniques on average. £1.57 of earnings so far.

The problem with these kinds of sites is that they don't target specific keywords or the keywords are way to competitive. The same is true for city blogs.

I think that you are moving forward at a good clip just concentrating on adding new content and improving the blog. 41 daily uniques is a good start with no link building. One thing to note that Google just recently changes the algorithm to increase the amount of long tails returned on searches. So, this is another good reason to keep concentrating on writing.
