What do you Think is the best way to drive traffic to your blog ?

I wonder which is the best way to drive traffic to a site or a blog. What do you think?:confused:

I think Social Media is THE best.

Search Engine Optimization for me.. i just never find more time to drive people into my field through social media so SEO is better and easier for me.

I feel Social Media is much much easy but is temporary.
On the long run SEO beats Social Media, any day.

Btw even blog commenting is a good method.

- Articles
- ezines
- solo ads
- press releases
- directories
- craigs list
- facebook, myspace, twitter etc...
- forum marketing
- ad swapping
- other blogs etc...

Now, it depends on WHICH type of site I'm promoting. If it's a product selling site, I'd just do some affiliate recruitment, they send mails to their lists and I get traffic.

If it's a blog, I'd generally use free promotional tactics such as commenting on other people's blogs, forums etc. I'll outsource those.

And then... it depends on what the site is. :)

I agree that it depends on the site and the niche. I think if it's a big niche, then if you can do really well at SEO and get on the frontpage, you'll be rolling in traffic, but SEO is one of the best ways.

I also think it depends on what type of traffic you want. Do you want huge numbers, or do you want fewer people that will stick around and comment (ie, quality or quantity?)

SEO for sure - especially with things like the All-in-One plugin for WP. Also, things like WSOs get traffic to your site, or posting freebies on this or DP/WF/etc. where you get them to a squeeze page or something.

I'll also say SEO.
Who knows which social media site is here to stay or even the Social Media itself is here to say or not.. SEO is here and will remain here! so bet lets get optimized. :D
